Vehicle Drop-Off Agreement

Thank you for choosing 2nd Era Limited. Please take a few minutes to read through this agreement before signing — it sets out what to expect while your vehicle is in our care, explains a few practical points about the work involved, and protects both of us if anything unexpected comes up along the way. If anything isn’t clear, please just ask a member of the team before you sign.

01   TIMESCALES

Wrapping, PPF, tinting and signwriting are hands-on jobs that take time to get right, and quality is never something we rush. Depending on the scope of work, your vehicle may need to stay with us for a few working days to make sure the finish is the best it can be. We’ll agree an estimated timeframe with you at drop-off and keep you updated on progress, including if anything arises that may affect the completion date.

02   GETTING YOUR VEHICLE READY

  • Please bring your vehicle to us in a reasonably clean condition. If it needs excessive cleaning before we can begin work, a £50 charge may apply and it may delay the start or completion of the job.
  • We may need to remove parts such as mirrors, badges, trims or lights to achieve the best possible result — we’ll take good care of everything removed and refit it once the work is complete.
  • If any existing wrap, tint, signwriting or coating needs removing before we start, this is charged at a minimum of £50 per hour, as it’s a time-consuming process that’s essential to a good, long-lasting finish.
  • Please make sure paintwork and glass are in good condition beforehand where possible. Pre-existing damage, corrosion or poor-quality paintwork can affect the finish and how long it lasts, and may not be covered under warranty (see Warranty, below).
  • If you’ve already prepped a surface yourself (sanding, adhesive removal, etc.), we can’t guarantee the result, as we’re unable to verify how the surface was treated. We’ll always speak to you first if we feel further preparation is needed on our end.

03   DEPOSITS & PAYMENT

  • Deposits are non-refundable, as they go towards covering the cost of materials, any design work, and holding your appointment slot.
  • Cancelling your appointment with less than 2 weeks’ notice may mean losing the deposit paid. With 2 weeks’ notice or more, we’re happy to transfer it to a new date free of charge.
  • Your vehicle will be released once payment has been made in full, unless we’ve agreed otherwise with you in writing beforehand.

04   WHILE YOUR VEHICLE IS WITH US

  • Please remove any personal belongings before drop-off — while we take great care of every vehicle on site, we can’t be held responsible for items lost, left behind or stolen.
  • Dashcams will be unplugged when your vehicle arrives, to protect everyone’s privacy while work is carried out.
  • Our team may need to move or drive your vehicle on site as part of the workshop process; we hold appropriate business insurance to cover this.
  • We may take photos or videos of your vehicle for our website, portfolio or social media. Just let us know in writing if you’d rather we didn’t.

05   A FEW THINGS WORTH KNOWING ABOUT WRAP, PPF, TINT & SIGNWRITING

  • Vinyl wrap and PPF aren’t paint — seams, relief cuts or edges may occasionally be visible. We always position these as discreetly as possible.
  • Vinyl reliably adheres to sound, factory (catalysed) paint and glass. We can’t guarantee adhesion or offer warranty on any other surface.
  • UK law limits front side windows to 70% light transmission. Anything darker is supplied for private land / off-road use only, not public roads.
  • Design proofs and colour samples are a close guide, not an exact match — small variations can occur once applied to a curved vehicle or printed.
  • Please check proofs carefully (spelling, sizing, fonts, colours) before approving. Corrections needed after approval may incur further design and removal charges.
  • Changing your vehicle’s colour or appearance? You’re legally required to inform your insurer, and the DVLA if there’s a colour change — we’d recommend doing this before you drive away.

06   COLLECTING YOUR VEHICLE

  • We’ll let you know as soon as your vehicle is ready to collect. Please arrange collection promptly — items uncollected more than 5 days after notification may incur a £25 per day storage fee.
  • Before you drive away, please take a moment to check your vehicle over with us and flag anything you’re not happy with there and then, so we can put it right straight away. Once you’ve left our premises satisfied with the work, we can only accept liability for issues later shown to be directly caused by our workmanship.
  • If any wheel-related work was carried out, please have the torque, valves and calibration checked after around 50 miles by a specialist, or bring your vehicle back to us for a free check.
  • All sales are final. If you have any concerns about the work, please talk to us first rather than raising a chargeback — we’re always happy to look into it and put things right.

07   WARRANTY

All materials we use carry a manufacturer’s warranty, which we will always honour on your behalf. On top of this, we provide our own workmanship warranty of 1 year on wrap, PPF and signwriting, and a lifetime warranty on window tint, covering genuine faults such as bubbling, peeling, lifting or cracking that isn’t caused by any of the points below.

For all vinyl and PPF installations, this warranty is conditional on your vehicle being brought back to us for a free 2-week check-up. This allows us to check the installation has settled and bedded in correctly, and to catch and resolve any early issues before they become a bigger problem. We’ll agree a suitable date with you at collection.

This warranty doesn’t cover:

  • Issues linked to pre-existing, sub-standard or previously repaired paintwork — this can affect adhesion and isn’t something we’re able to control.
  • Damage from accidents, misuse, vandalism or general wear and tear. We’re still happy to help put things right — a repair charge will apply in these cases.
  • Problems caused by not following the aftercare advice we provide at handover.
  • Any attempt by you or a third party to repair, remove or alter the work yourselves, as this can affect our ability to assess and fix the original issue.
  • Minor imperfections in glass that become more visible once tinted, or heating-element marks that can occasionally appear when removing rear screen tint.

To raise an issue, please get in touch with a photo of the problem, or bring your vehicle in so we can take a proper look and advise on the best way forward. We’d recommend keeping hold of your invoice or receipt, as we may ask to see this before processing a warranty claim.
